Communication is key in developing an ITS Integrated Transit System by building a network to include the sharing of existing metropolitan signal interconnections to monitor the intensity and mass of high speed traffic. This traffic analysis is routed via CCTV cameras to the network sharing the video output and control data. The transit priority and general objective is to use existing surveillance network systems to help with on-line traffic direction and safe transportation. Opticomm provides a variety of products to support all types of traffic transportation systems that require analysis and distribution of Video/Audio/Data to improve local transportation and secure roads and traffic signals. Opticomm's System Engineers have been able to produce specific fiber optic product lines in Sync/Async Data protocol to support DOT in various cities throughout the country and internationally. More and more transit cities combine CCTV and traffic networks using optical transmit/receive and control video/data/audio for the freeway system. Many projects are being put in place to provide fiber to connect the majority of transit port within each local infrastructure to avoid congestion on freeways and arterial incidents affecting traffic flow. Example: Opticomm FMV-595 is capable of transmitting Video/Data/Audio signals from a camera site to a remote site in full duplex operation (4-8-16 Video/Audio/data channel multiplexing systems).
