Opticomm Corporation, a privately-held company, was established in 1986 in San Diego, California.  In April 2007, EMCORE Corporation acquired the assets of Opticomm, including its fiber optic video, audio and data networking business, technologies, and intellectual property.

Opticomm-EMCORE specializes in the design, development, supply and manufacture of advanced optical fiber transmission systems.  As a prominent server to the optical communications industry for 26 years, we provide a wide range of fiber optic data transmission products to a growing list of customers, in both government and commercial sectors.

EMCORE Corporation (NASDAQ: EMKR) is a leading provider of compound semiconductor-based components and subsystems for the broadband, fiber optic, satellite, and solar power markets.  It is comprised of two primary business units, Fiber Optics and Solar Power. The Fiber Optics business unit, including Opticomm-EMCORE, provides components and systems for optical transport of digital and analog signals over long or short distances for the CATV, Enterprise, FTTx and High-Performance Computing market segments. The Solar Power business unit manufactures photovoltaic solar cells for space solar panels and rooftop systems.
