San Diego, CA
August 5, 2009
Opticomm, an Emcore Company will be highlighting multiple new products at IBC 2009 (Hall 2, Stand C53), activities include new product releases and developments as well as an operational status overview. Both Engineering and Production teams have been busy working on new products for release at IBC 2009, as well as announcements for major recent project wins, both domestically and internationally. "The process of moving our production lines to Los Angeles has gone well and we have been fully operational for the past 3 months. Meanwhile, the Engineering and R&D teams have relocated to a new state-of-the-art San Diego facility. The move enables the entire team to work together effectively and move rapidly through design and prototyping phases for new products", said Henok Tafese, Director of Business Development for Emcore Video (Opticomm).
Optiva Platform Product Updates
At NAB 2009 this year, we introduced new analog audio options for the Optiva Platform. The new options are an improvement to our existing audio module. The new module features an increased dynamic input/output range up to 18 dBu. Additionally, the new module has lower power consumption and reduced heat output. Demand from customers for this product steadily increasing.
The new Optiva Audio code "EA" has been created and the old Audio code "A" has been deprecated. We will continue to fully support "A" type audio modules in the field as well as offer reduced cost upgrades to the newest module for current customers who wish to take full advantage of this new professional audio option.
Many of our customers have also expressed a need for different connection options rather than our standard Micro DB25 audio connector. In response to this, we have introduced a standard Terminal Block audio option for Optiva, which can be ordered using the code "BA". This option utilizes the same "EA" audio module, but has the alternative connector option.
We look forward to seeing you at IBC 2009 this year. We are located in the same hall as last year (Hall 2), but our stand is on the opposite side. (Hall 2, Stand C53). We are planning to announce several new products this year at IBC giving Broadcasters and Professional A/V Integrators an even wider array of fiber optic transport options than before.
