FIBER OPTIC 4/8 CHANNEL (FM) VIDEO/AUDIO/DATA MULTIPLEXER TRANSMISSION SYSTEM
GENERAL
The Opticomm Model FMX-48000 is a Frequency modulated (FM), LED or Laser based NTSC, PAL, and SECAM compatible Video multiplexer, with optional combinations of simplex or duplex Audio and Data. The multichannel transmission is achieved by using SWFM Square Wave Frequency Modulation, Division Multiplexing techniques. For the Video portion, only FM with a single wavelength is used. This assures the best possible signal uniformity. It is ideal for the transmission of mulitple Video with Audio and/or Data, where only one fiber is available. Video, Audio, and Data come in banks of two. Status indicators on Video, Sync, FM carrier detect, voltage, temperature, and optical levels are monitored via LEDs. Units transmit over one multimode fiber @ 865 and/or 1310 nm; or over one singlemode fiber @ 1310 and/or 1550 nm.

SYSTEM DESIGN
All of our units come as an Insert Card version. The cards can be inserted into our 18 slot, 19" rack-mountable card cage (CC-18), or one of our smaller Desk-Top Card Racks (DTCR series). The Desk-Top Card Racks can handle one, two, four, or seven cards, allowing for greater flexibility and future expansion. They can sit on a flat surface as a larger stand- alone unit, or can be surface mounted with the flanges provided. Each one of our card housings operates with an appropriate power supply. The regulated switching power supply has short circuit protections, and an input operating voltage of 87-264 VAC.
