GENERAL
The Opticomm DIGIBAND® Series DVX-6400 is a Laser based multi channel system using DWDM ITU-Grid (OC-24) at 1550nm to multiplex either 4 or 8 DVX-6000 channels. The 4 channel model uses 400GHz & the 8 channel 200GHz spectral spacings. This allows 4 or 8 channels of SDI, HD-SDI, and HDTV Serial Digital Video over 1 fiber. The system provides studio broadcast quality transmission of uncompressed 10-bit serial digital video (per ANSI/SMPTE 259/292M & ITU-RBT.601-2). The system automatically locks to the standard SMPTE rate signals (143, 177, 270, 360, 540, & 1485Mb/s) then processes these signals to minimize jitter & BER across the link. A digital signal offers superior receiver output stability unaffected by optical fiber attenuation, aging, splicing & other degradation. Only ITU-Grid single mode is used.

SYSTEM DESIGN
DIGIBAND® DVX-6400, 6800 DWDM Mux provide a universal multimedia digital transport system for NTSC, PAL and other standards. Units are available as Desktop (Stand Alone) & Rack Mount versions for the 4RU-19" chassis. The CC-12-100 chassis has 12 slots with a single 100W power supply (PSU-100), and up to 10 slots with dual redundant 100W power supplies. The DVX-6400 and DVX-6800 allow for greater flexibility and future expansion. Both optical and electrical connections are accessed from the rear. The Rack Mount power supply is a regulated switching power supply with short circuit protection, and an input operating voltage of 87-264 VAC.
