GENERAL

The Opticomm DS-100-TR is a Fiber Optic Ethernet transceiver. It is compatible with a vast array of LAN devices, and supports IEEE 802.3 FOIRL protocol. Data rates of up to 10 Mbps are supported. The DS-100-TR allows users to attach Ethernet segments together, or to connect an Ethernet transceiver to a workstation. Distances of up to 2 km can be achieved without a bridge, and up to 75 km with a bridge. Our small compact units transmit over two multimode fibers @ 865 or 1310 nm; or over two singlemode fibers @ 1310 or 1550nm.

SYSTEM DESIGN

The DS-100-TR is equipped with six LED status indicators to assist in troubleshooting and operation. There are indicators for PWR ON, TX, RX, CLSN(collision), LMON(link monitor), and JAB(jabber).

The DS-100-TR can be plugged onto a PC card, an AUI port, or directly to a Thinnet or Cheapnet. The DS-100-TR has many computer to LAN applications, or any Ethernet solution. These units come in a stand alone or wall-mount version. The DS-100-TR can receive power from the 802.3 DTE device. If the DTE device's power is overloaded, an external 12 V_DC power supply can be used.
