GENERAL

The Opticomm DMX-795 is a broadcast and receive device, normally used for SCADA applications. The DMX-795 is transparent to all Data sent through it.

When the host sends information to the DMX-795 at the host port, it broadcasts to each of the 16 remote RS-232 ports. The remote ports then respond to the host device. Each of the RS-232 ports are extended, if desired by additional Fiber Optic Data modems.

The host port on the DMX-795 receives a signal from the host controller and broadcasts the message to all 16 remote RS-232 ports at the same time. Each of the remote ports have unique ID numbers that are addressed by the DMX-795.

The DMX-795 is compatible with RS-422 and RS-232, and they can be mixed and matched in banks of four. Electrical connectors are RJ-11.

Each unit is equipped with LED indicators to assist in troubleshooting and operation. There are nineteen indicators including those for PWR, ALARM, and CONTROL signals.

SYSTEM DESIGN

These units come in a Stand Alone version. Input power is 12 V_DC using an external power supply module.
