GENERAL

The Opticomm DIGIBAND^® Model DAX-2016 is a Laser based single channel fiber optic transmission system for 16 channels of uncompressed Serial Digital Audio. The system provides broadcast quality transmission of AES/EBU digital audio (per EBU Tech 3250E). The digital audio transmission is at a data rate of 6.144 Mb/s per channel. The system is designed to process the signals to minimize jitter & BER across the link.
A digital signal offers superior receiver output stability unaffected by optical fiber attenuation, aging, splicing & other degradation. Single mode fibers are used to provide broadcast quality transmission.

SYSTEM DESIGN

The DIGIBAND^® DAX-2016 is a digital uncompressed audio system providing 16 channels of AES/EBU audio. Units are available as Desktop (Stand Alone) & Rack Mount versions for the 4RU-19" chassis. The CC-12-100 chassis has 12 slots with a single 100W power supply (PSU-100), and up to 10 slots with dual redundant 100W power supplies. The DAX-2016 series allows for greater flexibility and future expansion. Both optical and electrical connections are accessed from the rear.

The Rack mount power supply is a regulated switching supply with short circuit protection, and an input operating voltage of 87-264 V_AC.
